Hello, my name is Yankun Li. I am a high school student in Texas, United States. I was born in Jiangsu, P.R. China, and moved to Texas during my early adolescence. Though I initially struggled as a novice English learner, I eventually became a strong writer and discovered great joy in writing essays. My writing primarily focuses on History, Language/Rhetoric, and Literature, though I also explore other interests like Photography and Anime.

In my personal life, I am just a normal nerd—a history enthusiast, aspiring photographer, anime fan, and (semi-)bookworm. Academically, I'm a dedicated self-learner, though this means I spend considerable time studying various Advanced Placement courses. I've found joy in combining my essay writing with learning, which is why most of my essays in the three aforementioned main categories follow AP Free Response Question standards for their respective courses—three courses in AP History, AP Language, and AP Literature. However, I don't present these as model essays; I write them purely for enjoyment, and truthfully, many don't meet all the FRQ rubric requirements for top scores.
